The price for a taxi ride from the airport to the city center costs about USD 30. Taxi counters are located on Level 1, just at the exit of international arrivals zone (there is only one). These taxi counters are open 24-hours every day of the year. Travelers are advised to use official taxis only for their own safety.

General recommendations
- If you are satisfied with the service add a tip no larger than 10%. Tips are not compulsory.
- Menu prices include all taxes, normally.
- Service charge is rarely used.
- Restaurants are obliged to give you a receipt that is called "boleta". The same for any purchase higher than 250 pesos at any shop.

Voltage supply: 220 V/ 50 Hz.
Plugs: CEE 7/16 (most common), CEI 23-16/VII, CEE 7/4, CEI 23-16/VII. U.S. appliances many need voltage converter and plug adapters.
Video system: VHS/NTSC, but many people use PAL too.
Tipping and bargaining
At restaurants: If you are satisfied with the service add a tip not larger than 10%. Tips are not compulsory, they are up to you and proportional to your satisfaction level.
Taxi services: No tips. Just pay what the taximeter says or what you previously agreed.
Bargaining: not used. Exceptions: souvenir stores, jeweleries, craft stores.
